Fate

New Nike "Fate" commercial directed by David Fincher and shot by the unmatchable Emmanuel Lubezki.

Easily one of my favorite commercials of all time.

"Greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done in this city."

The End of The World?

I heard about a new website today: whocanisue.com.

Yes, you heard me right. Who the hell can I make money off of, and under what pretenses can I make this claim, since I have no work ethic and want an easy way out.

Dot com.

Ignorance Is Not Bliss

I was in a store on colonial the other day by myself.

An older black gentlemen approached me holding a clipboard.

"My man. Yo, my man. Let me ask you a question."

I put down what I was holding and looked at him. "What's up man?"

"My man, I gotta ask. You registered to vote?"

"Yeah, actually I am." I assumed that because I was a younger kid wearing a hoodie at the time I was pegged for the type that likely was not informed, and likely did not care to be.

"Shit man, you sure? Someone call you? You sure?"

"Yeah."

The guy then asked me if I was just telling him I was registered so he wouldn't pester me.

"Well shit, I just needed like eight more people to register today then I can go home."

I figured the guy was working on behalf of McCain or Obama and was just meeting his personal quota for the day. I assume the best in people.

So I asked him why exactly he had counted on me to help him reach his required amount.

His response, the definition of eloquence.

"I don't even care about politics or none of that shit. I don't know nothing about it. I just figured you was young and didn't look like you cared neither. I gotta get ten people today so I can get paid, go home and sleep," he said.

Then, "There are a lot of ignorant motherfuckers out there."

Yes, indeed there are.

Chapter 10: "Two Riders Were Approaching..."

I have a favorite chair.

In our condo, Carly and I have an old chair that until recently was rarely used. It took up space in the corner and was only pulled into the center of the room when we had guests. Even then, it was the outcast chair.

It is where I sit now. It is my favorite chair. it is my reading chair. My eating chair. My watching the rain chair. My writing chair.

I love this chair.

I am nine chapters through Watchmen. Nine unbelievable chapters. I cannot believe I haven't read this until now. But the novel is brilliant in a way that can only be fully understood if read by oneself.

I am biking a lot lately. Helps break up the monotony of the gym. Plus i get to explore my town some more. I have found things hidden in the depths of Goldenrod. I am going to make a short film about my road.

In my wallet of have been carrying around a list of personal goals. Some art related. Some health related. Some more personal.

SNL continues to impress me with it's scathing portrayal of Sarah Palin. At this point, I am apathetic towards John McCain. When it boils down to it, I don't dislike him as much as I pretend to. I am a staunch Obama supporter, but John McCain is indeed a good man. He fought bravely and he knows where he wants to take us, regardless of whether or not I agree with him on every aspect of his policies. He has heart in the right place, or so I believe.

But Sarah Palin - what a joke. She seems nice enough. And maybe it's not her fault entirely - being thrust into such a position - but I am scared.

She has until November 4th to figure out just what the hell is going on outside of Alaska. I pray that by that time it won't matter and that this will just be a learning experience for her.
